Autumn is great for a meandering drive through the Tennessee countryside, the best time of year for you to enjoy a bit of time out of the hustle and bustle and hunker down for the holidays - and there's nothing better than a drive down the ol' Natchez Trace!

The Natchez Trace is a road that follows a historic trail through the woods, running from Nashville, Tennessee, to Natchez, Mississippi and covering over 500 miles of road. You've got quite a road trip on your hands!

The state began construction on the 450 mile parkway in 1934, but it was in 1938 that it was officially designated as the Natchez Trace National Parkway.

The stunning drive will take you through the beautiful Tennessee countryside, rife with brilliant autumnal colors and a perfect bit of edge to your pumpkin spice latte.

Interesting fact: Meriwether Lewis, of the famed Lewis and Clark, met his maker along the parkway. His death is still shrouded in mystery.
