The One Enchanting Place Near Nashville That Must Go On Your Bucket List Immediately
Harpeth River State Park offers a scenic hiking experience with the Hidden Lakes Trail, featuring stunning views and historic sites.
Harpeth River State Park manages 40 miles of the Harpeth River, preserving the beautiful Tennessee wilderness for our wonderment. Birding is extremely popular, as is boating, fishing, and the big one: hiking. Hidden Lakes Trail is of moderate difficulty and measures in at 3 miles total. But the view? Positively insane.
First off, just take a look at this view. Since it's October, you'll be seeing the same stunning color schema and crisp autumn air.
The first mile of the hike you'll be hiking through a wildflower meadow, beautiful in the springtime at autumn for the colors.
For the next half mile you're here on the edge of the majestic park bluffs. Don't trip!
You'll even come across an old marble dance floor from the 1940's, where there was once a resort here in the backwoods of Kingston Springs.
The historic Montgomery Bell Tunnel is also located in the park, though it isn't on the Hidden Lakes Loop. It's still a great spot to stop off and give your kids a quick history lesson, if you have time.
At only three miles, this hike is the prettiest place to go that's easy and far enough away from anyone else that you'll feel like you've gone on vacation. We're leaving right about now...
