We love South Dakota's beautiful, diverse towns. From our pretty capital city to the quaint towns in the Black Hills (like Keystone and Deadwood), we've featured several of our favorites already. Here's an enchanting town in eastern South Dakota that's so charming that we just had to show it to you.
The enchanting town of Watertown is a thriving community that has both natural beauty and plenty of amenities.
Around 22,000 people call Watertown home; it's the fifth largest town in South Dakota.
While it might be one of our state's larger towns, it's certainly not lacking in charm.
Beautiful Riverside Park is just one of many outdoor recreation sites that make it easy to get active and enjoy some fresh air.
Visit the farmers market to pick up some fresh, local produce.
The market runs every Saturday from 8 AM to noon. You'll find it in the parking lot at 1701 9th Avenue SE.
Residents and visitors alike enjoy races at Casino Speedway.
The Redlin Art Center is the crown jewel of Watertown.
Watertown's most celebrated artist, Terry Redlin was born right here, in a small home on the edge of town. His charming paintings of small town America enchanted the world...and continue to bring joy to Watertown residents and guests.
Community pride is what it's all about in Watertown, and you'll see evidence of that all over town.
The Watertown Municipal Band (shown here) offers free concerts in various locations around town throughout the year.
Watertown's pride extends to its local youth sports teams.
And of course everyone loves a good rodeo.
Watertown welcomes pheasant hunters from all over the state during the hunting season, and no one does Rooster Rush better.
Bramble Park Zoo entertains and educates children and adults alike.
