Many of South Dakota's towns are quaint and welcoming year-round, but some of them are particularly beautiful during the winter. The little town of Sturgis, South Dakota is overrun during the Motorcycle Rally, but during the winter it's peaceful and picture-perfect. Take a look!
Though the town of Sturgis is best known for its huge summer Motorcycle Rally, during winter months the town is peaceful and quiet with just under 7,000 residents.
Surrounded by the beauty of the Black Hills, Sturgis offers some spectacular scenery.
With a blanket of snow covering it, this place is a winter wonderland.
Visit Main Street, where you'll find shops, pubs, and cafes.
Winter is a great time to visit this museum with its motorcycle exhibits. It's open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Pay your respects to our nation's heroes at the Black Hills National Cemetery.
You'll find the cemetery at 20919 Pleasant Valley Drive.
Enjoy some pampering at the Akela Spa, where you can have a massage, facial, and sit in the Akela Tipi dry sauna.
Grab a drink at the famous Loud American Roadhouse. In the winter, it's a little less loud, but the drinks and pub food are still just as good.

A trip to Sturgis isn't complete without a dozen donuts from Weimers Diner and Donut.

Pay a visit to Bear Butte State Park. Take the Summit Trail, which is accessible during the winter and just 1.85 miles long.
The view from the top is beautiful. Remember not to disturb the cloth bundles hanging from the trees; this is a sacred place to the native people of South Dakota.
