The Pumpkin Patch Train Ride In South Carolina That’s Perfect For A Fall Day

Discover the best pumpkin patches in South Carolina, each offering unique attractions and activities for a fun-filled fall experience.

Wholesome family fun abounds upon the only recreational, sightseeing and operational railroad in South Carolina and there's no better way to seek out wholesome family fun than with a ride on the five-mile track departing from Winnsboro. Each fall, the museum hosts the best pumpkin patch train ride in South Carolina (and currently the only one of its kind in the state). It's a family event that's perfect for the littlest members in the brood: a short train ride that ends up at a magical pumpkin patch!

All aboard the Rockton, Rion & Western Railroad departing five times each day the last two Saturdays before Halloween.

The short excursion is as thrilling for the kids as it is for the kids at heart. And whether you sit inside...

...or out, the ride promises to be a thrilling experience for all as the train makes its way over miles of track winding through the countryside — before arriving at the Pumpkin Patch.

Of course, each child in attendance will get to choose the perfect pumpkin to bring home as a keepsake from the pumpkin patch.

And everyone always poses for a photo with scarecrow man who, by the way, is anything but scary.

Expect some entertainment for the kiddos, including some body art or face painting.

And fun and games until it's time for the train to depart back to the main station.

What a blast for everyone!
