Stand in three states - Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island - at once when you follow one of the trails that leads to this unique destination.

Several hiking trails, one from each state, will take you to the Tri-State Marker. The Buck Hill to Tri-State Marker to North Trail Segment 1 is Rhode Island's path to the marker.

The nearly nine-mile trail leads beyond the marker; however, you can always turn around once you've stood in the three states.

Be prepared for a moderate challenge along the way. The path can be steep, rocky, and muddy. Chances are you won't run into many, if any, other hikers along the way.

The trail is pet-friendly. Just remember to keep your pup on a leash and bring back whatever you take with you.

Look out for bugs, especially ticks, along the trail. Your best bet is to lather on and bring the buy spray.

The Tri-State Marker features three different markers, one for each of the three states that converge on the spot. It's an ideal spot for snapping photos.

You can also find the Tri State Marker by plugging these coordinates - 42.0081° N, 71.7992° W - into your GPS.
