You’ll Never Run Out Of Things To Do In This Tiny Rhode Island Town

Though the entire state of Rhode Island often feels like one small town, there are some municipalities that are a bit smaller than others. Unfortunately these places tend to get overlooked and their amazing offerings ignored. One small town in particular offers so many beautiful places crammed into such a small space that it's a must-visit destination.

Located in stunning Newport county is the charming town known as Little Compton. With a population of well under 4,000, few people expect there to be many fun things to do here, but they couldn't be more wrong.

The town is filled with amazing natural and man-made attractions ranging from gorgeous beaches to fantastic vineyards, and more.

The Little Compton Commons in the center of the town is not only rich in history, it is also a place to find several great attractions all in a small area. It is lined with Victorian and Greek Revival era buildings, a historic congregational church and cemetery, wonderful restaurants, and more.

Not far from the Little Compton Commons sits Carolyn's Sakonnet Vineyards on Main Road. There are few better ways to spend an afternoon than touring the lovely vineyards and tasting the delicious locally made wine produced here. The property is not only beautiful to visit, but also a perfect wedding and private party destination.

Just driving through the farm area found in the rural parts of the town is like something out of a dream. There are plenty of farm stops to visit along your drive to purchase fresh produce and other great locally crafted foods.

Little Compton is also filled with gorgeous beaches that are often less crowded compared to nearby coastal towns. Goosewing beach on South Shore Road in particular is a picturesque place to relax in the sun.

A trip to Little Compton would not be complete without visiting breathtaking Sakonnet Point. Found at the most southern point in town, the views of the Atlantic Ocean, with a historic lighthouse painting the horizon, are unmatched.
