1. Beavertail State Park – Jamestown

Let’s start our epic road trip at Beavertail State Park, home to Beavertail Lighthouse and some of the most stunning views in Rhode Island. A stroll along the rocky coastline and four scenic overlooks promise views that will take your breath away. If you’re not in a hurry, fuel up for the rest of the road trip with a picnic overlooking Narragansett Bay.

2. The Cliff Walk – Newport

Slip on comfy shoes for a walk along perhaps the most iconic trail in Rhode Island, the 3.5-mile Cliff Walk. The walk meanders along the ocean, offering jaw-dropping views of the famous Newport Mansions, the waves as they crash along the shore, and chiseled rock formations. While the majority of the walk is considered easy, the final portion poses a few challenges with rocky terrain and steep drop-offs.

3. Colt State Park – Bristol

Our next stop brings us to Colt State Park, considered by many the gem of the Rhode Island State Park system. Drink in some of the most glorious views of Narragansett Bay by strolling or biking along the 5.3-mile trail that's both wheelchair-accessible and stroller-friendly. Or grab a picnic table; have a snack or a meal, and admire the views.

4. Michael S. Van Leesten Memorial Bridge – Providence

Some of the best views of the Providence skyline will greet you as you wander along the Michael S. Van Leesten Memorial Bridge. If you don't have a ton of time to explore during your road trip, plan to come back. The bridge is dotted with benches, illuminated tables, and built-in chessboards.

5. Rocky Point State Park – Warwick

Next, we'll head to Rocky Point State Park for more bay views, a rocky coastline, and the Arch, a relic from the 1964 World's Fair in New York. Walk to the end of the pier, where you'll be treated to more stunning water views. Sit back and relax on one of the benches, and enjoy the breeze.

6. Mohegan Bluffs – New Shoreham

Our final stop will take us on the ferry and to perhaps Block Island's most well-known natural wonder: Mohegan Bluffs. The chiseled bluffs tower 200 feet over the ocean, offering spellbinding views. A staircase, with 141 steps, leads down to the sandy shore.
