Talihina is a tiny town nestled in the mountains of southern Oklahoma. It is in the Kiamichi Valley between the Kiamichi and Winding Stair Mountains.
This historical town was founded as a station stop on the St. Louis and San Francisco Railroad, which opened through the Indian Territory in June 1887. So, it not only has beautiful views but is rich in history.
Talihina is known as the Village between the Mountains and is the mountain gateway to the majestic Talimena Scenic Drive and the Ouachita National Forest.
The stunning Talimena Scenic Drive is a 54-mile drive that takes you along the crest of Rich Mountain and Winding Stair Mountain in the beautiful Ouachita Mountains.
