For this article, we will start our journey at Woolaroc Ranch & Museum in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

This famous estate and world-class museum is a hidden gem tucked away in the brilliant, vibrant scenery of Bartlesville. Take the scenic two-mile drive into Woolaroc and, if you feel like exploring, enjoy a relaxing few hours at the ranch.

After your visit to Woolaroc Museum & Wildlife Preserve, take a drive to Johnstone Park and see a replica of the first commercial oil well ever drilled in Oklahoma: Nellie Johnstone No. 1.

Another place worth visiting while in the town of Bartlesville is the mansion of oil tycoon Frank Phillips, which is now a museum owned by the Oklahoma Historical Society.

Then, enjoy the stunning foliage around town before heading out of Bartlesville for the remainder of your adventure.

The gorgeous scenery will begin to change from lush greenery to tallgrass prairies as you travel from Bartlesville to Pawhuska along Highway 60.

If you have time, veer off Highway 60 and follow the road to Tallgrass Prairie Preserve, where you'll find more than 39,000 acres of the largest protected tallgrass prairie in the world!

Another stunning sight to enjoy along the route is Kaw Lake, located just north of Highway 60. The dam is more than 10,000 feet long and stands at over 120 feet above the riverbed below.

The final destination along this scenic drive is Ponca City - home to the Marland Mansion. Known as the "Palace on the Prairie," the Marland Mansion is a National Historic Landmark museum and is known as one of America's own castles.
