There's one historic village, however, that could charm even The Grinch during the holiday season. The historic village of Zoar is one of Ohio's most enchanting towns year-round, but it truly comes alive during the Christmas season. Here's why Christmas in Zoar belongs at the top of your holiday bucket list:

The village of Zoar has more than 50 of the original historic structures and buildings still standing today. Consequently, the town has preserved much of its Old World charm.
Christmas in Zoar is a magical two-day event you'll want to attend this holiday season.
You'll get a chance to take a horse-drawn wagon ride around the village at Christmas in Zoar.
Christmas in Zoar will take place on December 1 and 2 this year from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Saturday and noon - 5 p.m. on Sunday.
You'll likely see a few carolers spreading some Christmas cheer while you're here.
You'll get a chance to tour the historic village at Christmastime, which is quite a treat. Tickets are $8 per person and children 12 and under are free.

And keep your eyes peeled for a visit with Belsnickel, Santa and Kristkind.
When the sun sets, the village lights up with holiday cheer and twinkling Christmas lights. You'll want to take a twilight stroll.

You can even attend a candlelight church service at the Historic Zoar Meeting House (Zoar United Church of Christ) on Saturday evening.

After the candlelight service, you'll want to stay for the tree lighting ceremony in the Historic Zoar Garden.
