9 Underrated Places In Cincinnati To Take An Out-Of-Towner

There is so much to do in Cincinnati that we often forget just how lucky we are to live in such a vibrant city. We actually declared Cincinnati to be one of the best vacation cities in America recently, but there are even more places throughout the city to explore, especially if you have out-of-town visitors. Sure, you can do all of the typical tourist-type excursions, and those are all awesome, but why not try these 9 underrated spots in Cincinnati that will show your visitors the heart of our town?

1. Sawyer Point

Cincinnati's original riverfront park should not be ignored, despite the fact that its newer partner, Smale Park, is fabulous. Take visitors to Serpentine Wall and walk along the history-lined trail for incredible views of the river and downtown.

2. Carew Tower

While you're downtown, head to Carew Tower and ride the elevator to the top for a bird's-eye-view of Cincinnati. Point out the west side and the east side and all of the major landmarks you can see from this 360-degree observation deck.

3. National Underground Railroad Freedom Center

Also downtown, a visit to the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center is a must. This amazing museum is filled with interesting exhibits and shows the vital role Cincinnati played in the Underground Railroad.

4. Ride the Cincinnati Bell Connector

Whether you consider the streetcar underrated or overrated, it's still a fun excursion for out-of-towners. Hop on at The Banks and ride it to OTR to give your visitors a unique view of downtown.

5. Krohn Conservatory

Drive up the hill from downtown into Eden Park and pay a visit to Krohn Conservatory. There are various seasonal exhibits and it's a beautiful place to spend time any time of year.

6. The Cincinnati Art Museum

Near Krohn Conservatory, you can actually walk to the Cincinnati Art Museum. With rotating exhibits and intriguing pieces of art, it's definitely an underrated space in our art-loving city.

7. Jungle Jim's International Market

You may not think to take visitors to a grocery store, but Jungle Jim's is so much more than your average supermarket. It definitely has a unique factor and you can spend hours wandering the aisles and searching for foods you never even knew existed.

8. Cincinnati Nature Center

Show your guests Cincinnati's natural beauty at the Cincinnati Nature Center. Hike several trails and reconnect with nature at this hidden gem in Milford.

9. Camp Washington Chili

What's a visit to our city without some Cincinnati-style chili? You could opt for the more well-known name, but how about taking visitors to one of the neighborhood favorites like Camp Washington Chili? You can't go wrong with a meal here any time of day!
