9 Reasons Why My Heart Will Always Be In Cincinnati

There's something about Cincinnati that sticks with you, no matter what. If you're from Cincinnati, but now live elsewhere or if you've lived here your entire life, we hope you feel the same way we do — that your heart will always be in Cincinnati. Here are 9 of the many reasons we love the Queen City.

1. This city has spirit.

Whether rooting for our beloved Reds, Bengals, or now our hometown soccer team FC Cincinnati, this city goes all out when it comes to spirit. We wear our sports team's gear all year long and we count down the minutes to the beginning of each season.

2. The need for a chili fix.

If I ever move away from Cincinnati, or let's face it, even after I go on vacation for a week, there's one place that's always my first stop when I'm back in town. Skyline Chili is the ultimate Cincinnati comfort food, as well as the other neighborhood chili parlors that serve this unique Cincy dish.

3. Four Words: Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip

Just looking at this photo of this Cincinnati favorite makes my mouth water. Graeter's Ice Cream has our hearts with its homemade deliciousness and charming locations.

4. Its rich history.

Cincinnati has a rich and interesting history that even those of us who have lived here our whole lives are always discovering. There's evidence of this past in our landmarks, neighborhoods, and museums. It's just one more reason to love Cincinnati.

5. Much changes... and much stays the same.

If you leave Cincinnati for a few years and then come back, there will likely be quite a bit of change. A new neighborhood will be the hot spot, a bridge will be replaced, or a new sports team has taken over. But as much as things change in the Queen City, there is also a lot of tradition and an effort to preserve the past. This photo is a good example, as our historic landmarks shine in a neighborhood that has seen a great deal of change over the years.

6. The weather.

Cincinnati's weather has a bad reputation since we can literally see all four seasons in the matter of a week. However, in the grand scheme of things — we are pretty lucky. We get to experience all four seasons and the beautiful color, snow, flowers, and hot summer sun that come along with them.

7. There's so much to do.

We are so spoiled in Cincinnati with so many different types of attractions and entertainment. From the zoo to Kings Island to our Symphony and Ballet — and that's just the beginning of a very long list of exciting ways to spend your time in Cincinnati.

8. The city has a sense of humor.

We decorate flying pigs because we're known as Porkopolis. We call ourselves the "Nasty 'Nati," but only in a loving way, of course. We joke about another bad football season and how westsiders never venture east, and vice versa. In short, we make fun of ourselves in the best way possible.

9. I can't get enough of the views.

No matter how many times you take in a stunning view of Cincinnati, they always impress. And if you call this city home, then these views are likely etched permanently on your heart.
