Chocolate just might be the best food in the world. At least that's what those of us who consider ourselves chocoholics would say, right? We have plenty of places to satisfy our chocolate cravings in Cincinnati. However, Maverick Chocolate Factory gives us the unique opportunity to learn about the chocolate-making process and to taste some mouthwatering samples before we do a little shopping for chocolate.

Go behind the scenes at Maverick Chocolate's Rockwood Commons location.

Join other chocolate connoisseurs as you embark on a guided tour of the factory, where you'll have the unique opportunity to watch Maverick Chocolate as it's being made.

You'll also have the chance to meet the chocolate makers as they transform ethically-sourced cacao beans into...

...Scrumptious chocolate. Maverick Chocolate Company allows the chocolate to ground for four days, which makes its texture gloriously smooth.

Chocolate factory tours are free. Join a tour on Tuesdays at 2 p.m. and on Thursdays at 2 p.m. and at 7 p.m.

The tours are first come, first serve, so make sure you arrive before the tour is scheduled to begin.

After the tour, spend some time exploring the shop. Pick up some of your favorite candy - from dark and milk chocolate to orange chocolate candy bars - to cap off your visit.

Stock up on all of your favorite chocolate at Maverick Chocolate Company, open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
