This Lovely, Little Known Town Near Cincinnati Is Positively Delightful

Ohio has no shortage of adorable small towns, and there are many right here in the Cincinnati area. There's one town right across the river that's quaint and quiet, and you'll want to visit soon.

The teeny, tiny town of Rabbit Hash, Kentucky was founded in 1847, and just over 300 residents call it home.

This adorable little town is located right on the banks of the Ohio River, about 29 miles south of Cincinnati.

During the historic flood of 1937, many of the homes and buildings in Rabbit Hash were washed away. A few historic buildings remain.

The Rabbit Hash Historic District was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

The General Store was built in 1831 and was also on the National Register of Historic Places until a fire burned it to the ground in 2016. The store was quickly rebuilt to resemble the original as closely as possible.

Inside, you'll find comfy spots to sit and shoot the breeze.

The store is filled to the rafters with unique items. You'll find handmade crafts, jams, candy, and soaps, as well as groceries and other staples.

The store is open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

If you can't bear the thought of leaving Rabbit Hash at the end of the day, stay overnight in The Old Hashienda.

The 1,200-square-foot apartment is located in a historic downtown building and offers all the amenities of home, with plenty of rustic charm.
