Bedford Falls, er... Dillsboro is a tiny town of just over 200 residents who are quite accustomed to sharing the goodness in their little town with visitors.

The town is a frequent stop for those en route to enjoy the Great Smoky Mountains. Each year for two weekends leading up to Christmas, Dillsboro lines the streets with 2500 luminaries. The practice is adopted from an old Scandinavian practice of lighting the way for the Christ child.

Additionally, shopkeepers stay open late on those four nights and offer coffee, warm cider, baked goods and cheerful holiday welcomes to all who attend.

The festive occasion is right out of a Christmas movie as locals and visitors alike gather along the streets to celebrate the season at the annual Lights & Luminaries event. It's a delightful way to gather with friends, do a little shopping, and celebrate the season.
