This two-day trip will take you to some of the best New Hampshire waterfalls.
All of the waterfalls are easily accessible with just a short hike in some cases.
Day One, Morning: Franconia Notch State Park
Most of the state would access the white mountains from Interstate 93, so Franconia Notch, which is just off the interstate, is the perfect place to state your New Hampshire waterfalls adventure. The park is absolutely stunning and the hiking trails to the waterfalls will wow you.
Day One, Lunch: Gypsy Cafe, Lincoln
Once you've worked up an appetite, head to Gypsy Cafe. The brightly colored cafe has a variety so that everyone in your party can find something they'd like to eat. After all, there's more hiking after lunch!
Day One, Afternoon: Lower Falls, Albany
After Lincoln, drive across the famous Kancamangus Highway. Take your time to enjoy the spectacular views of the White Mountains. At the end, you'll be rewarded when you find Lower Falls just a step off the road. It's the perfect place to stretch after a beautiful car ride, and as one of the most unique waterfalls in New Hampshire, it is also home to a natural waterslide, so bring your swimsuit!
Day One, Dinner: Black Cap Grille, North Conway
After exploring the Kanc all afternoon you deserve a cold drink and a great meal. The Black Cap Grille in North Conway has both. After you eat you can check out the shops in North Conway, or try to sneak in one more waterfall before dark.
Day One, Evening: Diana's Baths, North Conway
Diana's Baths is a stunning series of waterfalls that are an easy 20-minute walk from the parking area. Considering it's only about a mile long, this is one of the best waterfall hikes in New Hampshire.
Overnight: Jackson
The small town of Jackson, New Hampshire just a few miles north of Conway, is one of the most charming towns in the state. Once you cross the covered bridge into town you'll forget that a bustling tourist center is just down the road. Instead, you'll enjoy the peace that the hotels and B&Bs in this small town offers. Plus, the town is home to its very own waterfall.
Day Two, Morning: Jackson Falls
When you eat breakfast and stroll out of your hotel you're in for a treat. The center of Jackson is - you guessed it - a waterfall. These calm, slow falls in New Hampshire are perfect for watching as you sip your morning coffee.
Day Two, Late Morning: Glen Ellis Falls, Jackson
Once you're fully awake, head over to Glen Ellis Falls, which is just off Route 16. This stunning 65-foot waterfall in New Hampshire will leave you in awe. Plus, it's only a ten-minute walk from the parking lot.
Day Two, Lunch: The Red Fox Bar & Grille
By now you've worked up an appetite. To get to the next fall you have to back-track down route 16, so take time to stop in The Red Fox, where you can enjoy anything from pizza to burgers and beyond. Eat up, cause you'll need it for the next stop!
Day Two, Afternoon: Arethusa Falls, Hart's Location
We've saved the best for last. Arethusa Falls is widely thought to be the most beautiful waterfall in New Hampshire, dropping 140 feet. Be prepared though, and leave plenty of time, since it is a 1.5-mile hike to the falls.
After you tackle all of these epic waterfall hikes, you'll be ready to hit the road and head back home to start planning your next trip. What are some of your favorite waterfalls in New Hampshire? Let us know in the comments!
