Not only do they provide fresh fruits and veggies - including some you can pick yourself - but some places also grow beautiful blooms that will put a smile on just about anyone's face. Sunflowers are among Minnesotans' favorite flowers. Lucky for us, fields of these cheery flowers are easy to spot along Minnesota's roadways. Some even let you walk among the flowers! Sunflower Ranch - Big Lake

The road trip starts at Sunflower Ranch in Big Lake, Minnesota. Every summer, the ranch's fields fill with thousands of sunflowers. It's easy to see the flowers as you drive by, or you can make a paid reservation to see them up close. Or better yet, wait until the annual Sunflower Fest rolls around. This free event lets guests meander through the flowers, take photos, and enjoy the beauty. Prairie Oak Community Church - Andover

Next up is a sunflower field planted on the grounds of Prairie Oak Community Church in Andover, Minnesota. It's one of several sunflower fields planted by Fish Sunflowers (you can click here to find the other ones). The flowers bloom in late summer, and the field opens to visitors, who are welcome to meander along the paths and take photos.

Waldoch Farm Garden Center - Lino lakes

Waldoch Farm Garden Center is another great place that has its very own Sunflower Festival. Guests can buy tickets to wander through the vast field of cheery yellow blooms. Green Barn Garden Center is another great place to purchase flowers and plants. It's also a wildly popular place to see sunflowers. The field is right next to the garden store, and it's a sight to see come August, when the flowers usually bloom. Treasured Haven Farm - Rush City

The trip closes out at its northernmost location, Treasured Haven Farm in Rush City, Minnesota. This farm grows several acres of sunflowers every year, and they're easy to spot by passersby along the road. When the flowers bloom, the farm opens up to visitors who would like to see the flowers up close and take photos.
