This Maine Town Was Recently Ranked One Of The Best Places To Live Near The Coast
Kennebunk, Kennebunkport and Arundel make up the beautiful Kennebunks. Well-known to tourists, it's one of those towns that feels almost impossibly Maine. It's a great place to visit if you love boating, fishing and a quaint downtown, but can you imagine living here? Coastal Living Magazine recently voted this beautiful area one of the best places to live on the coast in Maine and we think it just might be worth a move!
Head to the Eastern side of the Kennebunk River and you'll find yourself in Kennebunkport.
Kennebunkport is home to quaint Dock Square.
Dock Square is the center of activity during the famous Christmas Prelude that takes place every December.
Living here means access to Cape Porpoise, the original English settlement of Kennebunkport.
And there's no shortage of gorgeous places to enjoy the water such as at Mother's Beach, pictured here.
If you're not sold on the move just yet, remember that Kennebunkport is home to celebrity names including former president Bush.
If Kennebunkport isn't for you, you've got another option in the form of Kennebunk!
Take a walk across the 52-foot-long Lanigan Bridge to reach this alternative.
Your daily lunch could include a trip to The Clam Shack.
Who doesn't want lobster rolls available within walking distance?
Like Kennebunkport, Kennebunk offers gorgeous beaches with nearly unlimited ways to enjoy the (mostly very cold!) water.
And, if what you love most about Maine are the misty mornings...
...and maritime sunsets, you'll be right at home here.
If you're passing through these towns on your next trip to Maine, be sure to check out The Wedding Cake House and this beautiful chapel right on the water.
And, if reading about the Kennebunks has you ready for warmer weather, check out some of the things that Mainers do at the very first signs of spring.
