Here are five incredible weekend getaways that you can take from New Orleans and will definitely have an awesome vacation.
1) Grand Isle
Grand Isle has been a favorite vacation spot of people in New Orleans for generations. It gives you a beautiful taste of gulf beaches and is just a couple hours from the city.
Fishing has always been a huge attraction in Grand Isle and the bounty here is amazing.
In fact, the first ever tarpon rodeo was held here many years ago and it has been going strong ever since!
Also, Grand Isle is an amazing bird watching location.
Birds from all around the world stop here as they migrate north. It's truly amazing.
2) St. Francisville
If you have never visited this beautiful place, you are in for a treat. Myrtles Plantation, pictured here is one of the most beautiful. And is known for the haunting that has happened here.
Another great attraction here is the historic Grace Episcopal Church.
An amazing Civil War story is often told in about this place that you should definitely explore when you are there.
Rosedown Plantation is a beautiful place that you will enjoy exploring.
Exploring here will take you back to another time and all of the amazing people and places will make for an awesome weekend!
3) Jungle Gardens/New Iberia Area
And, right nearby is another beautiful estate, Jefferson Island.

4) Breaux Bridge
This town is hands down one of my favorites in Louisiana. It is full of Cajun charm and class.
Breaux Bridge is home to some awesome antique shops and other charming stores.
If you don't find something special, keep looking. We know you will find it.
And of course, if you visit this area, you shouldn't miss the swamp surrounding here.
It is filled with beautiful cypress and wildlife that will make for some amazing pictures.
5) Biloxi/Pass Christian
Our final choice for you is Biloxi, just a short drive over the MS state border.
Beau Rivage is an amazing place where all of your needs will be met--not to mention the special casino found here.
You'll have great views of the gulf as you enjoy the bounty of seafood here.
The historic nature of this place will also impress you.
