The Twilight Asylum Tour In Iowa That Will Absolutely Fascinate You

Edinburgh Manor in Iowa offers guided twilight tours of its haunted grounds, known for its rich history and paranormal activity.

Here's a twilight tour that you won't want to miss if the creepiest paranormal activity makes you feel completely alive. It's right here in Iowa, and it has an amazing history.

Edinburgh Manor is located near the unincorporated Iowa town of Scotch Grove in Jones County.

The entire town is listed as a historic district on the National Register of Historic Places as of 2014.

The original "poor farm" on this site, built in 1850, operated until 1910. During those years, there were more than 80 documented deaths on the property.

This was a home for "the incurably insane and disabled" according to historical records. Tenants farmed the surrounding land and cared for livestock on site in exchange for their food and shelter.

In 1910, the original structure was demolished and Edinburgh Manor replaced it as a home for the poor, elderly, and mentally ill.

The Manor was in operation until November of 2010. Many relics from the past still exist within its walls.

During the summer of 2012, it reopened as a paranormal investigation site.

It's rumored to be the single most haunted site in the state of Iowa, and you can go on a tour.

Visitors can go on a guided tour of Edinburgh Manor on pre-scheduled dates for a tour fee of $10. Most tours start at 3pm and last up to two hours, which means it'll be dark when you leave.

Tours are usually on weekends, and reservations are required since there are only a limited number of spots and they fill quickly.

A group of five or more people can request a weekday private tour.
