Fall is just around the corner and you know what that means... No, not pumpkin spice everything (although that's an obvious plus!). It's almost time for the leaves to start changing colors!
Indiana is absolutely breathtaking in the fall, so we've put together an incredible fall foliage road trip to make sure you catch the best autumn foliage this year.

1. Clifty Falls State Park - Madison
Let's start our trip in gorgeous southern Indiana, along the Ohio River. Madison is a historic and quaint town to visit, but especially in the fall when the leaves start changing. Check out the best sights (and four aweseome waterfalls) at the town's state park for unforgettable views.
2. Spring Mill State Park - Mitchell
Whether you visit in early August when the leaves are plentiful or late in the seasons when many leaves have fallen, this state park offers a unique, up-close glimpse at some of the best foliage in the state.
3. Brown County State Park - Nashville
No fall foliage road trip is complete without swinging by stunning Brown County. This state park is arguably one of the prettiest in the state, and it's simply breathtaking in the fall!
4. McCloud Nature Park - North Salem
This little known park is the perfect spot for observing nature at its finest. You'll find bright, orange and yellow foliage in early fall and darker reds and browns late in the season.
5. Shades State Park - Waveland
It's crazy to think that many overlook the foliage at Shades State Park, because it's so intense and almost ethereal. For primitive, stunning colors, make sure you stop here and explore for a little while.
6. Mounds State Park - Anderson
This small town state park offers peaceful views of fall foliage. Colors here are slightly more subtle and subdued, but definitely worth checking out.
7. Chain O'Lakes State Park - Albion
This gorgeous, waterside park offers intense fall colors that you won't want to miss. Drive by or get out and hike for some truly amazing foliage.
8. University of Notre Dame - Notre Dame/South Bend
If you plan on going to a football game this autumn at Notre Dame, take his fall foliage trip on your way there! This gorgeous campus offer prime fall foliage views, mixing natural wonder with architectural delight.
9. Washington Park Zoo - Michigan City
This beloved zoo turns into pure magic during the fall, which rich autumn colors everywhere. For a real treat, complete your foliage trip by climbing to the top of the tower in the zoo to overlook the foliage across the Indiana Dunes.
