This tiny holiday utopia halfway between Macon and Savannah is a must-visit, and not just for the name recognition.

The town has a unique history, too, starting with a clever marketing tactic used by a local farmer back in the 1930s in order to lure people from the highway to his pecan stand.

People saw the name “Santa Claus” and quickly began detouring to the town in order to see what it was all about.

Throughout the years, that curiosity hasn’t shifted, and people come from all over to see this tiny town decorated throughout.

One of the main draws of Santa Claus, Georgia is for visitors to bring their letters from Santa or their holiday cards, in order to mail them out and have them postmarked with the Santa Claus seal!

Visit Santa Claus during the day for street names like Rudolph Way and Candy Cane Road, or at night for the luminaries put out to guide Santa’s sleigh—either way, it will be most magical.
