The Enchanting Small Town In Georgia Is One Of The Best Places To Enjoy Autumn

It's fall, y'all! There's no better time to get out and explore - autumn in Georgia is an amazing season. I love getting out and discovering new adventures. As someone who hates the heat, the cooler weather alone makes this my favorite time of year. Throw in fun things like festivals and pumpkin spice lattes and I'm completely sold! I love exploring new places, especially at this time of year. Driving down back roads lined with colorful trees is such a magical experience, and there are so many wonderful small towns to explore. One of the best fall towns in Georgia is Clarkesville, located towards the northeast corner of the state. There are a surprising number of things to do in this small city. Here are a few of our favorites:

Clarkesville is the county seat of Habersham County and has a population of around 1,900. This mountainous region of the state is known for its extensive history and unique culture.

The high elevation and cool temperatures result in some of the best fall foliage in Georgia here.

One great place to admire the leaves is Moccasin Creek State Park, located just north of Clarkesville.

At just 32 acres, this is the

" target="_blank">smallest state park in Georgia, but it's a lovely place for a stroll.

Another must-visit natural spot where you can check out all the beauty of the season is Hemlock Falls.

This is one of our favorite

" target="_blank">hikes in Georgia. The hike is only about two miles and the scenery is incredible. If it's an unseasonably hot day, dip your toes in the river to cool off!
