The Cozy Small Town In Georgia That Comes Alive Under A Blanket Of Snow

Looking for the perfect winter getaway in Georgia? We have plenty of wonderful small towns and large cities that are amazing to visit in the colder months, and the spot we're featuring today has so much charm. Toccoa is tucked away in northeast Georgia's Stephens County, right near the border with South Carolina, and this little place has it all. Not only is it home to one of the most impressive waterfalls in Georgia, it's also got delicious restaurants and adorable little boutique shops to visit. The town averages only about two inches of snowfall a year, so snow isn't a regular occurrence like it tends to be farther north, but when it does snow here, it's such a cozy sight. Snow or not, there are plenty of fun things to do in Toccoa, GA in winter - here are a few of our favorites:

The downtown area of Toccoa is filled with a variety of locally-owned shops.

The town's Main Street district is full of tons of great little stores and restaurants. When I travel, I love picking up souvenirs at places like this!

Since the town only sees about two inches of snow annually, far below the U.S. average of 28 inches, there's always a fun, child-like atmosphere here whenever the snow is falling.

Speaking of Toccoa College, it's here that you'll find one of the most impressive waterfalls in Georgia.

Toccoa Falls is located right on the campus that shares its name. This 186-foot waterfall is one of the tallest in the state, and it's quite stunning to see in any season.

The college looks lovely when covered by a blanket of snow.

There's actually a second waterfall in Toccoa that's not quite as famous. You can find this one at Henderson Falls Park.

One of the town's best restaurants is Ping's Grill. It's located right on Lake Toccoa and boasts amazing views and delicious food.

There's indoor and outdoor seating available here. You can get more information from the Ping's Grill website.

Whether you visit in the dead of winter or in the warmer months, Toccoa is a wonderful town with a lot to do.
