That means finding those hidden gem Florida towns most visitors don't know about is paramount. If you want to escape some of the crowds this summer and enjoy things like a farmers market, botanical garden, Gulf access, and a seasonal festival, then we have the perfect place to do so. Get ready to take a trip to visit Bonita Springs, Florida, a small city with so much to do.

Looking for the ultimate slice of weekend paradise in Florida without all the crowds? Head on over to the small city of Bonita Springs, just north of Naples. Situated on the Gulf Coast side of the Sunshine State, Bonita Springs is a great weekend getaway with so many things to do for all ages. For starters, nothing beats a weekend away than a trip to a place where you can absorb the local culture. What better way to do that than with a trip to the Bonita Springs Farmers Market? Located at The Promenade at Bonita Bay on Saturdays from 8 a.m. until noon (October through May), come find all the best local produce and vendors to peruse for the morning.

Summer doesn’t get much sweeter at Bonita Springs, largely due to the exciting events. Riverside Park is the hub for the band shell's local music, outdoor movies, and community events. Speaking of events at this lovely city park, mark your calendars for Wednesdays from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. for the Bonita Springs LIONS Wednesday Market. Pick up fresh fruit, vegetables, and handmade items from April through October.

Also, spending an afternoon in Bonita Springs with the kids can become the ultimate adventure with a trip to The Wonder Gardens. Established in 1936, this incredible attraction features a stunning botanical garden and truly magical wildlife enclosures for rescued birds and reptiles that cannot be released back into the wild. It's a place of learning about the animals as much as it is about conservation. Animal Encounters are available for an added fee, and close-toed shoes must be worn to participate. Of course, for a relaxing Florida summer getaway, a day at the beach is necessary. And a visit to Bonita Springs isn't complete without spending time on the sand on one of its many beaches.
