Florida has a lot of beautiful beaches and outdoor adventures, but our state also has plenty of fascinating educational destinations that make growing up in the Sunshine State really fun. We often mention the nation's oldest city, but there's another historic attraction that is often overlooked.
Remember the feeling of awe you felt the first time you learned about space travel? If you're from Florida, you've probably even seen a few shuttle launches. Or maybe you were one of the many children who always wanted to be an astronaut when they grew up.
Florida has a proud history hosting America's space program through some of its most unforgettable moments.
At the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, you can see relics of some of NASA's most significant accomplishments.
Visitors can see the largest rocket ever flown, that took the first human beings to the moon, up close.
There are also plenty of games and interactive exhibits, including an incredible shuttle launch simulator.
You can even meet (and eat) with real astronauts. Take a keepsake picture or ask them some of your burning space questions.
The complex also offers guided bus tours and other special activities.
If you visit at the right time, you might even catch a real rocket launch.
Address: Kennedy Space Center, SR 405, Titusville, FL 32899
I know I'll never forget my trip to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. Have you ever visited this historic attraction? What was your favorite thing about your visit?
