Admission-Free All Winter Long, The Brandywine Zoo In Delaware Is The Perfect Day Trip Destination

Brandywine Zoo offers free admission from December through mid-March, making it a great winter day trip in Delaware.

Throughout the year, the Brandywine Zoo lures visitors in with incredible animal exhibits, events, learning opportunities, and more. In the winter, though, the crowd gets one more treat - a visit to the Zoo is completely free! From December through mid-March, come visit the Brandywine Zoo without paying a cent. It's one of the best places you can go for a winter day trip in Delaware.

The Brandywine Zoo is Delaware's only AZA-accredited Zoo and it's one of the best places for an animal experience in the First State.

The Zoo is home to dozens of animals, ranging from lemurs . . .

. . . to monkeys and primates . . .

. . . to wild big cats!

It's fun to visit any time of year to watch the mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and birds play, rest, eat, and otherwise enjoy their safe and secure life here - but visiting in the winter is a memorable experience.

The Zoo is admission free from December through mid-March, because of the variety of exhibits and the fact that winter weather occasionally means certain critters need to stay inside.

Even if you visit on a blustery day, though, there are so many fascinating animals to see!

The reptile house is particularly popular with kids, who love looking at little dinosaurs like the bearded dragons and creepy, slithery snakes.

A visit to the aviary is always a hoot, too!

Some animals are particularly active in the winter, so you'll have an entirely different experience than you would if you came in the blistering heat of the summer!

Plus - you'll be able to pet the goats, and that's why we all come to the zoo anyway, right?
