Foodie Road Trips are the best kind of road trips. Check out all of these amazing places to eat in our state, organized in the best possible way.
Day 1: Breakfast at Libby's in Wilmington
Start your foodie road trip off at the best breakfast spot in Wilmington, and possibly the best breakfast spot in the whole state! Libby's food is out of this world!
Day 1: Lunch at Two Stones Pub in Newark
Grab one of dozens of brews they have and pick out some great lunch food - the tacos and nachos are always a win, and their burgers are to die for. They've got wings that have been featured on our best-of-Delaware lists, too. You can't go wrong here!
Day 1: Dinner at 1861 in Middletown
If you happen to show up to 1861 on a Monday, prepare to be wowed! Their Bourbon, Burger and Beer special runs just $15 and includes some of the most creative burgers I've ever seen.
Day 2: Breakfast at Smyrna Diner, Smyrna
This long-time area favorite will make you feel right at home! There's really nothing better than greasy diner food for breakfast, is there? Order some eggs, bacon, home fries and toast and you'll be in breakfast heaven.
Day 2: Lunch at Fat Daddy's BBQ in Georgetown
OMG. Is there anything in the world better than a giant plate of pulled pork? Maybe an entire rack of ribs? Oh, no, I've got it! Pulled barbeque chicken!
Whatever your tastes are, you'll be so happy at Fat Daddy's BBQ. Best BBQ in the state!
Day 2: Dinner at The Backyard in Milton
I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that I've never had a bad meal at the Backyard in Milton. Actually, I don't think I've ever had a mediocre meal there. Every time I've sat down on their back deck and ordered up, the meal has been outstanding. Whether you spring for the filet pictured above or go for something unique like the Honey Jalapeño Pork Chop, you'll enjoy it. You might just want to end your road trip here, and have breakfast, lunch and dinner there for the rest of your life.
Day 3: Breakfast at Country Side Cafe in Selbyville
Country Side Cafe is another great breakfast spot in Delaware - ask anyone from the Fenwick Island area! Their French Toast is amazing, and they have so many great combos that you can be certain you'll get exactly what you want to eat! Be warned, though, you'll want to order everything that you see come out of the kitchen!
Day 3: Lunch at Tacos Chabelita in Laurel
Best tacos in the state, hands down. You won't find anything more authentic than Tacos Chabelita for miles and miles. If you really love Mexican food, you are in for such a treat.
Day 3: Dinner at 1 in Town African Restaurant, New Castle
The askrako (fried plantains) here are amazing. If you've never tried genuine African food, you're so in for a treat. Finish your foodie road trip with a meal that you're certain to be talking about for weeks.
These places will fill you up and make your belly so happy. But if you're looking for a road trip that won't take a whole weekend, check out these road trips in Delaware that you can take on a single tank of gas.
