Every state has its fair share of small towns, but we feel confident in saying that Colorado is home to some of the best small towns in the country. Whether you are looking for a charming downtown area, historic buildings, restaurants with the best home-cooked meals, or just some proud and friendly folks, you are sure to find just that in every corner of the state. However, if we had to pick one town in particular to be the coolest in both the state and country, it would have to be this small Western Slope community. Here's more on why Palisades might just be one of the coolest small towns in Colorado.
Located in the heart of Colorado wine country is the picturesque town of Palisade, which is home to more than 2,500 residents and some of the best landscape in the country.
Named for the nearby cliffs (pictured), Palisade is commonly referred to as the "Peach Capital of Colorado;" a nickname that it has earned via its generations of farming.
Since fruit farming still plays a vital role in the town's economy, dozens of fresh fruit stands and storefronts can be found throughout the town (as well as various locations around the state).
In addition to their locally grown produce, Palisade boasts a number of other must-see attractions, including a quaint downtown area...
...numerous outdoor excursion and recreation opportunities...
...and, of course, a number of different wineries and breweries!

(Need we mention that this town of 2,500 also has SEVEN one-of-a-kind places to stay?!)
