The blocks of snow are prepped in advance for the 5 days (65 hours) of sculpting.

The sculpting week will begin on Monday, January 22 with a gun shot start and will come to a close on Friday, January 26th at 10 a.m.

Spectators are welcome to come watch the sculptors in action during this time.

For an added challenge, the sculptors are only allowed to use hand tools for this competition.
