Many Are Calling The Small Town Of Black Hawk In Colorado A Mini Las Vegas Worth Visiting
Black Hawk, Colorado, offers a unique, high-stakes vacation experience with numerous casinos, luxury resorts, and world-class dining options.
Do you long for a fast-paced, high-stakes vacation that is full of bright lights, loose slots, and all-you-can-eat buffets? When you think of a getaway like this, what locations come to mind? Vegas? Monte Carlo? Atlantic City? If you did not think of Black Hawk, Colorado, you are missing out on a glitz and glam vacation that is both easily accessible and super fun. Here is why:
Named one of "Colorado's Top Destinations," Black Hawk is a tiny, Gilpin County town that may not sound like much (cities with 127 residents typically do not have a ton of attractions), but is indeed one of the most exciting places in the state.
Incorporated in 1886, Black Hawk, CO has worn several different hats during its lifetime, beginning as a prosperous mining town in the mid-19th century, then as a hub for the Colorado Central Railroad, a desolate ghost town in the mid-20th century, and - today - as a popular place to gamble.
Thanks to a 1990 Colorado referendum allowing casino gambling in Black Hawk (which was passed as a way to preserve its historic buildings), the town is now home to a whopping 15 casinos and more slots, games, and tables than you can count. It's a mini Vegas in Colorado!
These Colorado casinos are a really good time. You'll have so much fun playing slots and table games here. This place is very unique, rarely crowded, and a whole lot of fun.
In addition to the casinos, Black Hawk also offers luxury resort options, a la places like the Lodge Casino and Ameristar (pictured).
Are you hungry? Black Hawk is home to a tantalizing assortment of buffets and world-class restaurants, too!
