From the north to the south, east to the west, there is no shortage of these friendly places to go around. Now, you may think that we only look to the mountains and Slope for these places, but this is not the case, as demonstrated by this small Eastern Plains town that you may have heard of, but have never taken the time to visit.
Located smack dab in the middle of Denver and the Colorado/Kansas border, the town of Limon is a tiny community of nearly 2,000 that is known by many as an easy stop while traveling along I-70.
If you have never taken the time to stop in and visit the town, however, you are truly missing out on one of Colorado's best hidden gems!
Incorporated in 1909, Limon is a historic railroad community that remains an important town in terms of transportation, earning the nickname of the "Hub City of Eastern Colorado."
Not only does I-70 touch Limon, so do State Highways 86 and 71, as well as Highways 40, 24, and 287.
