We'll start with pumpkin picking at the Nash Ranch Pumpkin Patch, then head on over for a night or two (or even three, if you really want to get away!) in a beautiful treehouse cabin. This weekend of fall fun starts off at the Nash Ranch Pumpkin Patch, tucked away in Redding. This Shasta County spot has been family-owned and operated for decades.

Every October, Nash Ranch hosts its "Pumpkin Festival." This has been a popular event for nearly as long as the ranch has been in business. This place is an annual tradition for many, especially those of us who love the fall season.

The wide-open fields here are brimming with a variety of pumpkins. Different species, sizes, and colors are on display, so pick the one you want!

The land has been owned by the Nash family since 1953. Pumpkins aren't the only thing that's grown here. Nash Ranch also cultivates oat hay, bird seed millet, corn, barley feed grain, and alfalfa hay, and lambs are raised on the premises, too.

Whether you're looking to carve up a festive jack-o'-lantern decoration or want to make seasonal goodies like pumpkin bread or pumpkin pie, you're sure to find the perfect pumpkin here.

If you're interested in attending the full festival, note that it's held on weekends. However, the pumpkin patch and corn maze are both open through the week. During festival hours, you can enjoy a variety of attractions, including train rides, a farm animal petting zoo, and tons of other activities. Food vendors will be available, and there's even a craft fair scheduled on weekends.

This cabin is suitable for four guests and has two upstairs bedrooms.

Both bedrooms offer their own unique features. The master bedroom has stunning views of nearby Lake Shasta. The guest bedroom boasts a built-in library that bibliophiles will adore.

There's also a table and chairs out on the front deck, plus a roomy back deck. These are the perfect vantage points for taking in the glorious fall foliage or sunrise and sunset hues.
