1. Darwin Martin House (125 Jewett Parkway)
Frank Lloyd Wright's masterpiece is just as impressive from the inside as it is on the exterior! Take it all in with a docent-led regular or specialty tour of The Martin House Complex. If you're hoping for photo ops, be sure to sign up for a Photography+ tour for exclusive photography access to the home (for personal use only). Act fast - tours fill up quickly, so reserving your ticket at darwinmartinhouse.org is advised.
2. Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens (2655 South Park Avenue)
Tours of the Buffalo Botanical Gardens are available for students ages 5-21 and adults and seniors for a small fee ($7-14 per person). Opt for a general tour of the gardens, a history tour outlining Buffalo's history and the role of the gardens in the city's development, or a tree tour where you can learn how to identify tree species and view trees in the Arboretum. Tours are led by staff of the Botanical Gardens and are about one hour in duration. Book at least three weeks in advance to ensure your date is available!
3. Our Lady of Victory Basilica (767 Ridge Road)
The OLV Basilica is open from 6:00 AM until 9:00 PM daily, with guided tours available every Sunday at 1 and 2 PM, with the exception of holidays. Personal tours are also available by appointment only anytime between 11:30 AM and 3:30 PM Monday through Friday. Admission to the basilica is free and open to people of all faiths.
4. Albright-Knox Art Gallery (1285 Elmwood Avenue)
The Albright-Knox offers hour-long tours on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 1:30 PM. You can view the collection on a guided tour for free on the first Friday of every month.
5. Burchfield Penney Art Center (1300 Elmwood Avenue)
Guided tours of the Burchfield Penney Art Center are offered every Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday and are included with the cost of admission. Take in the Burchfield Penney's several galleries and exhibitions and be sure to stop by the Center's store to support local artisans!
6. Buffalo Museum of Science (1020 Humboldt Parkway)
Tour the Buffalo Museum of Science's over 700,000 objects on guided or self-guided tours! For a complete list of guided tours available, head to sciencebuff.org or opt to explore at your own pace during the museum's normal operating hours, 10 AM - 4 PM seven days a week.
7. Buffalo Pedal Tours (347 Ellicott Street)
Pick a tour and grab some pals to pedal around Buffalo for sight-seeing, bar crawls, and restaurant tours! Buffalo Pedal Tours has several bikes that can accommodate anywhere from 13 to 73 people with several tour options to choose from.
8. Grain Silo Tours (44 Prime Street)
Experience Buffalo's grain silos like never before on Thursdays and Saturdays during the summer months. For just $15 per person, you can see how these industrial giants served to boost Buffalo's heritage with a 45-minute tour and multimedia presentation on Buffalo's waterfront history.
9. Hotel Lafayette Tours (391 Washington Street)
Meet on the first Sunday of each month at 11:00 AM or noon for a 50-minute guided tour of the Hotel Lafayette hosted by Buffalo History Tours, LLC. During these tours, you'll learn about how the hotel was renovated, how whiskey saved the hotel, and more!
