Prescott Turns Into A Winter Wonderland Each Year In Arizona

Prescott, Arizona, designated as the state's official Christmas City, offers numerous festive activities and events during the holiday season.

Hey, did you know Arizona has an official Christmas City? That’s right! Today, we’re going to take a look at that magical place that makes the Christmas season feel just a little more festive. Gather up the family and take a trip to Prescott. Everyone is certain to love the best winter town in Arizona.

In 1989, the late Governor Rose Mofford designated Prescott as Arizona’s official Christmas City, something that makes the former Territorial capital and “Everybody’s Hometown” just a little more special.

The most iconic event and decoration you'll find here is the lighting of Courthouse Plaza, which helps Prescott look like a charming, festive small town.

This looks like the just place to walk around town with a hot chocolate in hand to enjoy some old-fashioned Christmas joy.

The activities you'll find happening around town this time of year are numerous: light displays, parades, concerts and live performances, craft fairs, and tons of other events happening almost daily.

The main day to show up, however, is on Saturday, December 7. That's when the most exciting events are happening! This includes the Frontier Christmas celebration at Sharlot Hall," the annual Christmas parade, a gingerbread house display, and the courthouse lighting.

It's easy to see why Prescott is one of the most festive towns in Arizona.

Add some snow to those decorations and festivities and you have one incredible winter paradise!
