One of the greatest things about the fall colors in Alabama is that they are abundant! Hues of gold, crimson, ruby, and more make for a plethora of beauty.  There are several destinations located throughout the Yellowhammer State where you'll experience beautiful fall colors, including the eight listed below. You'll want to visit them all!

1. Cheaha Mountain - Talladega National Forest

With an elevation of 2,411 feet, Cheaha Mountain is Alabama's highest natural point. Because of its high elevation, this majestic mountain offers one of the state's most beautiful views, especially during the fall season.

2. Point Rock Trail - Grove Oak

The Point Rock Trail is a scenic 2.2-mile out-and-back trail that's located within Buck's Pocket State Park. It's surrounded by the most colorful fall foliage.

3. Little River Canyon National Preserve - Fort Payne

Little River Canyon National Preserve, which is located atop of Lookout Mountain, is one of Alabama's best nature spots. Little River Canyon, also known as the "Grand Canyon of the East," is such a lovely place to enjoy Alabama in the fall.

4. Cambron Covered Bridge - Huntsville

The Cambron Covered Bridge is located at Alabama's Madison County Nature Trail. It's surrounded by colorful foliage and offers a wonderful lake view.

5. Meditation Point - Oneonta

Meditation Point is a unique place at Palisades Park that lets visitors meditate while taking in the incredible views. Palisades Park is the perfect destination for a fall day trip.

6. Smith Mountain Fire Tower - Dadeville

The Smith Mountain Fire Tower is a 90-foot-tall tower that offers an amazing panoramic view of Lake Martin. Also from atop of this fire tower, you'll experience miles and miles of beautiful fall colors.

7. Kymulga Grist Mill Park & Covered Bridge - Childersburg

Kymulga Grist Mill Park & Covered Bridge is a definite must-visit this fall. Interestingly, the park's covered bridge is one of two 19th-century covered bridges in Alabama still standing in their original spot.

8. Horton Mill Covered Bridge - Oneonta

And last but certainly not least on our list of places to experience beautiful fall foliage in Alabama is the Horton Mill Covered Bridge. It is located in Blount County, which used to be known as the "Covered Bridge Capital of Alabama." With a height of 70 feet, it's also one of America's tallest covered bridges over any U.S. waterway.
