Alabama’s Hidden Gem: This Small Town’s Quaint Beauty Is Unmatched

Cullman, Alabama is located about an hour north of Birmingham and about an hour south of Huntsville. The town has many things to offer for the whole family from a great parks and recreation, to one of the cleanest lakes in the United States. In 2013, Cullman was voted one of the best places to raise and family and I'd like to take you on a photo journey to show you why it's my favorite small town in Alabama.

1) Cullman County Sunset

One of the many things that Cullman has to offer is beautiful farm lands.

2) Barns of Cullman County

Along with large farms comes stunning old barns and Cullman County has its share of barns.

3) Heart of the City

Where Hwy 278 and Hwy 31 meet marks the center of town.

4) Cullman County Courthouse

The Cullman County Courthouse which sits on Hwy 31 was remodeled after an April 2011 tornado.

5) Downtown Cullman

Sacred Heart Church can be seen from most places in the city.

6) The Crosses at Scared Heart

The gold crosses of Sacred Heart reflect the sun so that every one sees them.

7) Larkwood Falls

Lark Wood falls was a sight to see during the winter storm of 2015.

8) County Fair

The county fair is always a big attraction every year at the end of September.

9) Living the Lake Life

Lewis Smith Lake is located right outside of Cullman and is a sportsman's paradise.

10) Best Sunset Views

Smith Lake sunsets are best enjoyed with company.

11) Smith Lake Sunsets

It is hard to beat a Smith Lake sunset.

12) Star Trails over Smith Lake

Even the nights on Smith Lake are spectacular.

13) Smith Lake Paddle Board

Paddle Boarding on the lake is a great stress reliever.

14) Duncan Bridge

Duncan Bridge on Smith Lake is an iconic landmark.

15) Cullman Under the Lights
