This Unique Restaurant Menu Will Let You Eat Like A President

Everyone wants to dine like royalty now and then, and the next best thing might be to dine like a U.S. president at this spectacular restaurant in New York City.

The kitchen at Blackbarn Restaraunt is helmed by chef John Doherty, former executive chef at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel and the only person to have ever cooked for six world leaders at the same time. Now, the Blackbarn is introducing a menu that reflects the luxurious meals of those distinguished diners.

Chef Doherty has prepared a five-course menu that premiered on Presidents Day and uses fresh ingredients to recreate meals enjoyed by former U.S. presidents and world leaders.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now:

The menu includes treats like Consommé and Ravioli of Wild Mushrooms, which was served to Mikhail Gorbachev, Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet, at a presidential dinner in 1988. You can also expect to feast on Chocolate Caramel Tart with Raspberry Coulis, which was enjoyed by President George W. Bush after an address of the United Nations Assembly in September of 1997.

The menu will be available until March 15 and a percentage of the profits will go toward Chef Doherty’s charity Heavenly Harvest Foundation, which provides meals to families in need.
