Enjoy A Kid-Friendly Virtual Zoo School From Texas’ Houston Zoo
In these trying times, distractions are crucial to maintaining our sanity. What better escape than watching cute animals at the Houston Zoo? Since they’re closed for the time being, the zoo is live-streaming videos of their most popular critters on weekdays at 11 a.m. It’s a perfect educational activity for the kiddos!
While our beloved Houston Zoo is closed until April 4 due to the coronavirus, its dedicated staff members are still hard at work every day. They're bringing the zoo straight to your home via live videos and webcams, making for a fun and educational experience the whole family can enjoy during these trying times.
Zoo webcams give you a real-time look into the habitats of six different animals. Watch elephants, giraffes, gorillas, rhinos, chimps, and even leafcutter ants nibble on lettuce, take naps, roll around in the mud, and generally go about their daily lives.
You may not be able to see the giraffes in person, but rest assured their handlers will be providing regular updates. Learn what they've been up to, their favorite leaves for munching as of late, and other interesting tidbits.
Facebook Live videos offer an even more interactive viewing experience. Tune in at 11 a.m. CST on weekdays to watch elephant baths and other zoo animal antics.
You can also check in with the cheetahs and learn how zookeepers help them stay active, healthy, and engaged. Streaming is expected to continue for the duration of this pandemic, so gather up the whole family and learn something new!
