Ride Through An Enchanting Aquarium On This Underwater Train In Texas
Train rides are inherently awesome, but one in particular takes that enchantment to a whole new level. At Downtown Aquarium in Houston, Shark Voyage is an underwater locomotive adventure that takes passengers through a 200,000-gallon aquarium filled with the ocean’s most vicious predators and a vast array of additional sea life.

Downtown Aquarium is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Houston, and for good reason. Among other activities, it features an impressively large collection of aquatic life as well as a themed restaurant reminiscent of an undersea grotto. Fun as these things are, the newest attraction just might take the cake.
Luckily, first impressions are often inaccurate. You’ll come to that conclusion when the railroad tracks slowly inch closer towards a pair of words looming in the distance. "Surely that doesn’t say Shark Voyage!" you’ll think to yourself...or does it?
Indeed, it does. As the double doors part, the train enters an abysmal tunnel surrounded by over 200,000 gallons of the ocean’s most vicious predators.
Little kids will be completely awestruck throughout the entire ride (after getting over the initial fright, of course). Studying the creatures from beneath provides such a unique opportunity to learn about their everyday mannerisms.
You’ll see several shark species in the aquarium, but that isn’t all! Stingrays and exotic, multicolored fish are just two of the many aquatic animals on display.
