There's A New Orleans Themed Restaurant In Texas Called Suga's Deep South And It's Both Fun And Delicious

Soul food is a huge part of both Louisiana and Texas culture, but it isn’t always easy to find an authentic meal outside of New Orleans. Suga’s is a Deep South restaurant and jazz bar whose atmosphere and delicious Creole cuisine transports you straight to the French Quarter. Check it out:
Housed in a renovated historic building in downtown Beaumont, Suga's Deep South brings a little slice of New Orleans to Southeast Texas.
Inside, the atmosphere couldn't be any more reminiscent of a building in the French Quarter. A colorful dining room, deep mahogany furniture, and even a grand piano for jazz musicians to take it away on all evoke a deeply soulful vibe that transports you straight to the Big Easy.
Traditional Cajun food with a gourmet twist and dash of Texas flair is how we can best describe the food. The weekend brunch menu is especially mouthwatering, sporting dishes like a sophisticated, yet indulgent smoked salmon frittata. (pictured here is the lobster version, which is no longer offered.)
Two different types of eggs benedict: crab cake and boudin, plus shrimp & grits, chicken & waffles, and New Orleans-style French toast are just a few of the many delectable options. Dinner favorites include USDA Certified Prime steak, pork chops, quail, crab-stuffed tilapia, and so much more. You'll leave the table feeling simultaneously light and satisfied.
Try to save some room for dessert, as the choices are truly sensational. Both pecan praline and New York-style original cheesecakes, plus a double-layered chocolate cake known as "Black Magic" and an ice cream sampler promise to take your taste buds on an interdimensional journey.
It wouldn't be a NOLA-themed restaurant without an impressive drink menu, so luckily, Suga's delivers on that front. Whether you enjoy the simplest of cocktails or a Bloody Mary loaded with every topping under the sun, rest assured there's something for everyone.
