Outside of work, you can likely find her curled up on with a hot cup of coffee, practicing yoga, baking, or exploring the beautiful Lone Star State (in particular, the vast and mystical West Texas desert).
Although Lord of the Rings is a fictional tale, you can experience its magical, otherwordly scenery right here in Texas. There’s a place in the hill country called Gorman Falls that will transport you to the mystical Middle Earth and make you forget what planet you’re on, let alone what state you’re in.
Gorman Falls is located in Colorado Bend State Park in the city of Bend, which is in the hill country. The lush greenery and towering waterfall create a jungle-type scene unlike anything in this world.
You'll encounter gnarled tree roots and branches that bend in whimsical ways, huge rocks, a nearly 70-foot tall waterfall, and foliage greener than you thought possible.
The park is located west of Lampasas and can be reached by following FM 580 for 24 miles until you get to Bend. From there, signs will guide you to the park entrance.
So, what do you think? Are you ready to embrace your inner hobbit and pay Gorman Falls a visit?
