I think it’s safe to say that almost everyone in America has heard of Baylor University. Far fewer people know, however, that the nationally-ranked college is one of the oldest continually operating higher education facilities in the U.S. It was established in 1845 by last Congress of the Republic of Texas, and you can still visit the ruins of the original campus at Old Baylor Park in the village of Independence (near Brenham).
