In August, this 169-year-old building will open as a bed and breakfast, accepting up to four guests at a time. Magnolia Hotel was originally a two-room log cabin, built in the 1840s by the co-founder of Seguin, Texas Ranger James Campbell. After Comanches brutally ambushed him, the property was sold and transformed into a hotel.
The hotel was vacant for 20 years before getting placed on a list of the most endangered buildings in Texas. Erin and Jim Ghedi purchased the hotel in 2013 to begin the rewarding yet arduous process of restoring it.
Several paranormal investigation groups, including Travel Channel's "Ghost Adventures," have conducted overnight hunts, so there's no denying how much spectral activity takes place within these walls. Antique furniture and other artifacts from decades past not only add to the ambiance, but also serve as conduits through which spirits can manifest.
None of the Magnolia Hotel ghosts are camera shy - this we know to be true. While nonbelievers might argue that a mere droplet of water on the camera lens caused that anomaly, we're inclined to think otherwise. After all, what are the odds it would appear to be floating through the window?
A fully-restored suite consists of two bedrooms with a king and queen sized bed, living room, kitchen, and full bath with walk-in shower. Four guests will be allowed to stay at any given time.

An open house will be held on July 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. so the Ghedis can show off their hard work. This rare opportunity takes you back in time over a century, highlighting the building's return to its magnificent 1880's grandeur.
