You've probably never heard of the tiny Texas town of Itasca, but it's about time that changed. Home to fewer than 2,000 people, this close-knit community is home to Olde Town Country Store, a quaint and rustic general store with one of the best bakeries in Texas.
The store has only been at its current location since 2017 - prior to that, it was situated along I-35 in Grandview and known as "The Country Store." A partnership between two families has allowed the store to grow into the thriving little marketplace it is today, and you'll be charmed as soon as you step inside.
If you don't need an entire pie, the fried pies are another crowd favorite. These handheld treats are available in a variety of scrumptious flavors such as apple and pecan, and they promise love at first bite.
In addition to the bakery, Olde Towne Country Store also boasts a deli with the best sandwiches you'll ever eat. Their fluffy, pillow-soft homemade bread is the secret weapon that makes for a drool-worthy mouthfeel.
