It would be positively criminal to drive through Gainesville without stopping at Rumpy's Bakery & Deli.
Located inside a Gulf gas station, this authentic German bakery and restaurant dishes out scratch-made desserts and deli eats, and it will quickly become your new favorite roadside stop.
Upon entrance, your eyes will go straight to the baked goods. Glass cases are filled with everything from cupcakes and muffins to kolaches and strudel. There is something for everyone here!
Although kolaches are not German, but rather Czechoslovakian in origin, Rumpy's still makes some of the best you'll ever have. These fruit-filled delights also come in a staggering array of flavors, so rest assured you'll find one that fits your fancy.
The bread loves are also out of this world. Both dessert and sandwich breads are baked fresh daily - you'll never look at the bread aisle in the grocery store the same again.
