Nothing quite compares to the magic of the Texas Hill Country. From its undulating hills covered in lush greenery to its world-famous rivers and swimming holes to its plethora of charming small towns, it's no secret why the area is such a popular vacation spot. One of my personal favorite Hill Country towns to visit is Wimberley because not only is it bursting with natural beauty, but the pace of life is still slow there. We've outlined some of the best attractions in and around town - plus the best cabin rental in Wimberley, Texas that makes the perfect home base for your adventures.
Don't forget to check out our list of the best cabins in Texas for more charming and rustic places to stay in the Lone Star State.
Wimberley is a charming small town of just under 3,000 located in the heart of the iconic Texas Hill Country. Year-round, people flock to Wimberley from all over Texas to experience its slow-paced lifestyle and abundant natural beauty.
By far, the most famous landmark in Wimberley is Jacob's Well. Surrounded by rugged cliffs, this gorgeous natural spring is characterized by its crystal-clear waters and complex (and deadly) underwater cave system that extends for miles in all directions beneath the surface.

Please note: As of June 2023, Jacob's Well is currently closed for swimming due to drought conditions. Visitors are still welcome to hike in the area and view the spring, however.
Another popular destination in town is Blue Hole Regional Park. Also a spring-fed swimming hole, this crisp, clean oasis is lined with majestic cypress trees and features rope swings and a spacious lawn for sunbathing.
Please note: Reservations are required to swim at Blue Hole.
Thrill-seekers can't get enough of Wimberley Zipline Adventures. With a staggering 10 ziplines on one course, this bucket-list-worthy adventure takes participants soaring high above the lush Wimberley Valley.
While you're in the area, you simply must have a meal at The Salt Lick in Driftwood. This iconic BBQ joint serves up some of the most mouthwatering smoked meats in Texas - and it's only 13 miles from Wimberley!

You'll need a home base to come back to between adventures, and I can't imagine one better than this cozy and secluded cabin.
Situated at the top of a hill on 10 private acres near the edge of town, this eclectic bungalow features two stories of living space and even boasts a hot tub on the spacious back porch.
Up to four guests can sleep in the cabin's two bedrooms, each with a queen bed. There are also two full bathrooms.
The style is equal parts vintage and contemporary, with décor inspired by the hosts' travels. The living area is open, airy, and bright, and amenities include a smart TV, Wi-Fi, a dedicated dining table, and more.
While the kitchen is definitely quaint, it's also just plain adorable (and fully stocked with all the dishes, utensils, cookware, and appliances you need to make your favorite meals).
The star of the show, in my opinion, is the hot tub. Wimberley is an International Dark Sky City, so you can enjoy a relaxing soak while gazing up at the starry night sky.
