The West Tennessee Strawberry Festival Is The Oldest Festival In Tennessee, And It’s An Absolute Blast
Tennessee is known for its hospitable nature as a whole, for its kind people and welcoming atmosphere. The state plays host to all sorts of fun events and family-oriented festivals all year ’round, so many that sometimes it can be difficult to keep them straight. If you’ve ever been to Humboldt, Tennessee, though, there’s no question about the best festival around? It’s the West Tennessee Strawberry Festival. The oldest in the state and one of the most beloved events of the year, we’d highly recommend a visit this year.

The West Tennessee Strawberry Festival has been running since 1934, which makes it the longest running festival in the state. This year, 2020, will mark its 83rd year in the running.

The festival spreads out over 9 blocks, and a crowd of roughly 75,000 locals gather to celebrate community and the Tennessee strawberry over the 7-day experience.

From parades to fireworks to recipe contests, the West Tennessee Strawberry Festival has it all. The family-friendly experience boasts a highly popular Shortcake in the Park experience, and there's always live music and entertainment.

The BBQ cook-off is a must visit, for the delicious eats and the fun, live entertainment. The Strawberry Market on Main is fun for shopping and a low-key afternoon spent out and about. Make sure you bring the kids! The whole festival is slated towards families, so they're more than welcome.

On Saturday, there's a 5k and a 10k run that kicks off the closing weekend of the festival. Make sure to follow up the experience with a walk around the Tractor Show, or attend one of the festival's mid-morning beauty pageants.

The West Tennessee Strawberry Festival honors family, food and fun with a seven-day extravaganza every spring. There's no better way to kick off the warmer season in Tennessee, folks.
