There’s a reason why the act of eating also serves as the act of bonding human beings, and here in the south we’re in love with the idea of our mealtimes making a mark. This tiny Bristol restaurant took memorable eating quite literally, and serves up something delicious in an atmosphere you won’t soon forget…

The team at Broad Street on State knows that they have a fantastic restaurant on hand, but do you? The old fashioned, customer oriented eatery boasts a retro vibe and fantastic period decor that makes it one of the most memorable eateries in the south.

Most folks don't know that Broad Street on State doubles as the oldest diner on State Street itself. Located in Bristol, this is the only 1950s diner-esque eatery in the tristate area.

Doesn't it look straight out of a movie? It's the only FW Woolworth's Lunch Counter in the tri-cities geographic area, making it a true part of local history.

The eatery originally boasted over 30 different specialty hot dogs, although they have decided in recent years to slim down the menu and focus on a flavorful few.

These fried tacos, though? They look delicious because they are delicious! The menu at Broad Street changes fairly consistently, and recently expanded into vegetarian fare like a hefty black bean burger.

Although we can't get over the fried tacos, you can also indulge in pulled pork bbq, homemade soup and fabulous homemade beef burgers and sandwiches.

This truly is a great place to eat, especially with a restaurant that boasts comfort food made the "New Old Fashioned Way!"

You can indulge and enjoy for yourself at 616 State Street in Bristol, Tennessee. We'll see you there, milkshake in hand!
This retro restaurant may take the cake, but did you know this Tennessee eatery serves brunch all week long? We love it!
